The Orchard Park Community Activity Center, located at 4520 California Road, will host a community blood drive on Saturday, May 1, 11 am – 4 pm. The drive is being conducted by ConnectLife and all blood collected stays local, helping nearly every hospital in Western New York’s eight counties maintain safe inventory levels while saving them millions of dollars in out-of-state sourcing costs. Demand for blood is constant.
Donations will be accepted by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please email OPCAC@orchardparkny.org, call Sue Hemingway at 716-539-4520 (option 3), or visit connectlifegiveblood.org and use the code 000686 to find the May 1st blood drive at the Community Activity Center.
Donating blood is safe. To practice social distancing, all donor wait chairs, screens, beds, and refreshment chairs are placed 6 feet apart. Surfaces will be sanitized between every donation. ConnectLife asks that all blood donors wear a mask when presenting to donate. If you do not have a mask, a disposable one will be provided to you during your donation.
